Liesel and Altheus

Pensive, oneiric Liesel and tough, eloquent Altheus are a fratello team devised by yours truly - the first ever author-created fratello team in the history of Gunslinger Girl fanfics. I featured this deadly duo in several of my stories, all readable at [link] - they made their debut in 'A Day in the Life of a Gunslinger Girl', which is the second ever piece of Gunslinger Girl fanfiction on the entire Web.

I originally intended for Liesel to be a vision of pre-adolescent cuteness like Angelica or Henrietta, but eventually opted for a hard-edged, almost dangerous look like Elsa's. The overall effect I achieved was one of sinister elegance, which I now admit is far better than than the adorable appearance I initally had in mind. Lauro and Pietro Fermi served as a rough draft for Altheus' appearance.
